Ocho fortuna

Me gusta esta tienda aunque no es mi estilo, ya que tienen una onda muy kitsch, pero se puede encontrar lindas cosas y divertidas. "Ocho Fortuna" empezó con una tienda chiquitita en el Barrio Lastarria y de repente comenzó a crecer y ahora tienen varias tiendas desplegadas por ahí. Acabo de escuchar que hace muy poquito abrieron una tienda que solo se dedica a elementos de cocina, como platos, teteras, etc., y creo que esta tienda en particular me va a encantar. Les cuento después cuando esté por ahí...

I like this shop, although is not my style because is too kitsch sometimes, but you can find great and funny pieces. "Ocho Fortuna" starts as a small shop in Lastarria neighborhood and suddenly starts to grow and grow. I just heard that they opened a new shop but only with kitchen design objects, like plates, teapots, etc., I think I will like a lot this new shop, I will tell you more after visit it...

Este post está muy atrasado...pero tenía que compartir esto con ustedes. Como todos los eneros, Santiago hace el increíble festival "Santiago a mil", un evento de teatro donde se pueden encontrar desde danza contemporánea hasta algún drama o comedia. Hay muchas obras para elegir, en mi caso elegí una de la compañía de Marie Chouinard "Le Sacre du printemps" and "Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune ". Fue realmente surrealista en el buen sentido de la palabra, nunca había visto algo igual. Los bailarines eran increíbles, se movían de una manera espectacular, de pronto parecían animales mutando hacia seres humanos. Realmente disfruté mucho esta obra, fue muy inspirador y además claro, pasé un momento increíble!

This post is very very late...but I need to share this with you. Every january, Santiago has the amazing "Santiago a mil" festival, a massive event where all the theaters of Santiago presents a different show. There´s a lot of shows to pick, you have from contemporary dance to comedy, or drama performances. I choose one of Marie Chouinard company: "Le Sacre du printemps" and "Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune ". It was surreal, I never saw a dance performance like this one. The dancers are great, you should see how they moved, like animals who mutated into humans or something like this. I really enjoyed this play and I really hope that you can see something like this, because to me was very inspiring and of course I had a great moment!

Papelaria

Esta tienda es para morirse de las cosas hermosas que tienen, desde papeles hasta libretitas. Cada vez que la visito me quiero comprar todo! y claro que es imposible, asi que esta vez me compré estas cositas: agenda, agenda de direcciones y teléfonos con frases de Jane Austen, Tarjetas con diseño de papeles murales chinos y sellos de goma. Estoy feliz!

This shop is to die for. It has a lot of beautiful papers and stationary, every time that I visit this place I want everything!, of course It´s impossible so I bought these beautiful things: Address book with quotes of Jane Austen, a diary, cards with chinese wallpaper designs and rubber stamps. I´m happy!

Tea Connection

Hace poco estuvimos en Buenos Aires con mi hermana y fuimos almorzar a un lugar increíble que me encantó porque hacen una comida muy sana, exquisita, el ambiente es muy lindo y buenos precios. Les recomiendo Tea connection totalmente!

A few weeks ago we visited Buenos Aires with my sister and we lunched in an incredible place that I loved, they have an amazing, healthy food, the place is beautifully decorated and good prices too. I totally recommend Tea connection!

Buenos Aires::MALBA

Tuve la suerte de visitar la buenísima muestra de Marta Minujín en el MALBA en Buenos Aires. La muestra estuvo espectacular y muy completa, se puede ver su vida, su trabajo, su tiempo y época. Siempre admiré mucho su trabajo y por eso me alegra que el MALBA reconociera su trabajo y trayectoria. Siempre digo que Marta es nuestra Warhol, no les parece? Además almorzamos con Sebastian en el cafe resto que tiene el museo, que es hermoso y todo riquísimo. Como suelo decirles, por favor si andan por Buenos Aires no pueden dejar de visitar este museo!

PD: solo quería compartir con ustedes que esta semana fue muy loca para mí. El martes me hicieron una operación de urgencia por un quiste, estoy super bien y recuperándome, pero fue todo un shock. Ahora estoy en la casa de mis padres descansando y obviamente me están malcríando mucho y claro, blogueando...

I was in the incredible exhibition of Marta Minujín at MALBA (Museum of Latin American Art in Buenos Aires). The exhibition was wonderful and very complete, you can see her life, her work, her time, I always admire her work so I´m glad that MALBA recognize all these years of work of this great artist. I always say that Marta is our Andy Warhol, don´t you think?. Plus and I told you this before, this museum is amazing, we lunched there with Sebastian and the cafe and resto is just perfect and delicious. As I use to say, please If you are in Buenos Aires, don´t miss this!

PS: this is very crazy, but I just want to tell and share with you that I had a little surgery this last tuesday, it was a kind of emergency, I had a cyst. , everything was so quickly. I´m perfect right now, but I was in shock. I´m in my parents home now, recovering and being spoiling by my family and husband, and of course blogging, I have all the time!

The romantics

La semana pasada vi una serie que pasan en la BBC llamada The Romantics o Los Romanticos. Es sobre los escritores del romanticismo y me volví una fan total no solo del período sino del programa. El romanticismo o la era Romantica, fue un complejo movimiento artistico, literario e intelectual de la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII en Europa, y fue una reacción contra la Revolución Industrial. Está presentada y narrada por Peter Akcroyd, encontré esta serie no solo interesante sino que me dio ganas de saber más y más sobre este período. No se lo pueden perder y es super fácil verlo en youtube. Solo disfruten...

Last week I watched a BBC series called The Romantics. It´s about the writers of romanticism and I became a fan. Romanticism (or the Romantic Era) was a complex artistic, literary and intellectual movement that originated in the second half of the 18th century in Europe, and gained strength in reaction to the Industrial Revolution. Presented and Narrated by Peter Akcroyd, I found this incredible interesting and makes me know more and more about this period. You can miss it and is so easy to watch it in youtube. Just enjoy...

Mamma mia!!!

Comiendo una pastas increíbles, espectaculares en Buenos Aires en "La Tanita" con mi hermana Lucy. Se que Argentina es conocido por sus asados pero dejenme decirles que creo que la pasta se lleva todos los premios, la verdad que no hay pasta como la de allá!. Obviamente y creo que se debe a la gran inmigración italiana. Como plus en ese almuerzo estaba disfrutando de los libros de Jamie Oliver que me acababa de comprar (como pueden ver soy una gran fan).

Eating incredible, amazing pasta in Buenos Aires at "La Tanita" with sis Lucy. I know that Argentina is well known by its barbecue, but let me tell you that pasta is one of the specialities. We have a lot of italian immigration, so I guess it could be the reason. Also I was enjoying in that lunch the Jamie Oliver´s books (I´m a fan as you can see).

Siempre me gustó jugar con Barbie, así que imagínense cuando vi este Barbie Shop en Buenos Aires con mi hermana Lucy, estábamos felices y no lo podíamos creer!. Esta tienda tiene peluquería, salón de te, una boutique y miles de espacios para jugar y disfrutar y pasarla bien. Lo mejor de lo mejor es que todo es tan rosa! lo amé!

I´ve always loved to play with Barbie, so you can imagine me when I found this amazing Barbie shop in Buenos Aires with my sister Lucy, we were so so happy!. This shop has a hairdressing salon, a tea house, a boutique and so many more places to play and have a lot of fun. The best of the best that everything is so pink! Loved it!
